The Training Center at the RS&GIS is a state-of-the-art computer facility, equipped with the latest software and hardware. This lab is the perfect place to take a RS&GIS workshop or host your own event.

Upcoming Technical Workshops
We offer one- to two- days of CEU certified technical workshops covering the principle tools of geospatial technology. These hands-on classes, taught by our staff of Certified GIS Professionals, give you the opportunity to expand your technical skills, spatial knowledge, and software proficiency. These courses carry a CEU value ranging from 1.8 to 0.7 credits.

RS&GIS is proud to host Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI) courses at our training center. These courses are scheduled through ESRI and are taught by ESRI employees.

Renting the Training Center

The Training Center is available for daily or weekly rental by MSU and non-MSU organizations. Rental of the Training Center includes:

  • 8 workstations each featuring:
    • Windows XP
    • Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz
    • 3 GB RAM
    • 19" LCD Monitor
    • DVD-RW/CD-RW drive
  • 7 workstations each featuring:
    • Windows XP
    • Intel Celeron D 2.66 GHz processor
    • 3 GB RAM
    • 17" LCD Monitor
    • DVD-Rom and CD-RW drive
    • Zip 250mb drive
  • Polyvision Walk-and-Talk™ Interactive Whiteboard
  • LCD Computer Projector
Daily rental fee: $500
Weekly rental fee: $2000
Technician Charge: $60/hour

To rent the Training Center, contact the training coordinator.

Handicapper accommodations may be requested by contacting RS&GIS one week prior to the first day of the workshop to ensure sufficient time to make arrangements. Requests received after this deadline will be met when possible.
